My Story
LeCol's Soap Bar got its start when Leslie Colvin retired from teaching Special Education in the Redmond School District in sunny Central Oregon. She always enjoyed designing projects that would encourage life long learning and teaching pre-vocational skills to her middle school students. After retiring, Leslie decided she wanted to start her own business. Since her friends and family gave her positive feedback about her handcrafted soap she made while working, she decided to expand the idea. She did extensive research, attended soap and lotion making workshops, and experimented with many different soap formulas. When she hosted her first Bubble Bash in late 2007, a good friend ingeniously came up with the business name of LeCol and is now happily continuing to grow and develop her business.
LeCol specializes in the design and production of luxury, artisan, handcrafted soaps and body products. All of LeCol's handmade shea butter soaps are made in small batches from scratch using the cold process method, not a pre-existing base. The cold process soap method involves slowly melting solid oils and butters and mixing them with room temperature alkaline solution. This ensures the natural glycerin is not removed and makes a naturally moisturizing soap. A blend of olive, coconut, palm, sunflower, shea butter, and castor oils, along with the finest essential oils or fragrance oils, makes LeCol soaps a pleasant and nourishing skin experience. Safe micas, ultramarines and color pigments are utilized to create beautiful, unique works of soap art. All soaps cure on drying racks for 4-6 weeks before being sold. After using LeCol's handcrafted soaps, you will never want to go back to store bought detergent bars again!
When you choose LeCol, you'll know all of her products are made with care, love, and respect with you, the customer, in mind.
